How did I get here?
I was working in an insurance agency and feeling stuck and then Covid-19 hit. We were all sent to work remotely. What a blessing! I was finally able to work in an environment where I felt comfortable!
Unfortunately, I still wasn’t happy. So when I was told my position was no longer mine, I was grateful to be free but sadly, unemployed.
After a short period of wound licking, I decided to do what I always wanted to but never had the nerve or need to pursue.
I woke up one morning in May and said, I’m starting a business of my own. Working on my own terms–for me. I was completely terrified and at the same time also bubbling over with excitement. So many things to figure out, but I was totally committed and jumped in both feet. Splash!
So, how do you start an online business?
What do you do with it? Now what? Thank you to Susan Mershon, The Techie Mentor – She has a wonderful program to teach you everything you would like to know about being a virtual assistant.
I’ve never been much of a planner, but I worked for several weeks planning my business, marketing, onboarding, and doing my thing. My support has been so wonderful. I’ve been virtually assisting a client but I never really thought of it as a business until I decided to be Virtu-Ally.
I’ve recently signed 2 new clients and I’m still sending proposals and meeting with folks regularly! Feeling super excited that my business is taking off. If you feel like there should be more to your life and you are afraid to step out there, remember that sometimes you have to get your feet wet to make it through the rain. Stay positive. Stay strong. Chase your dreams! They aren’t that far out of reach.
